Debi Drake: Realtor®

In 2008, Debi Drake ends a 19-year career to become a Realtor®. Debi brings extensive knowledge and experience to her real estate brokerage, Paragon Premier Properties.

Debi began her paralegal career working for a sole practitioner in a small law office above the souvenir shops that once lined our famous Downtown Fremont Street. There she handled postforeclosure proceedings representing various mortgage companies, both large and small. She became a Notary Public her first year; a title she held continuously for nearly 18 years. Dissolution of Marriage having been a large portion of her case load, Debi quickly became familiar with the preparation, execution and recording of real property transfer deeds. Three years later, Debi landed a paralegal position for a small firm also located in the Downtown area of Las Vegas. There she had the opportunity to work side-by-side with the then talented, young lawyers who now hold various prominent, elected positions here in our local legal community. Working Probate cases here brought real estate to Debi’s plate on a daily basis for the next four years.

Debi was then off to New Haven Connecticut where she worked for a small law firm for a short time before being offered a position at one of the most prominent law firms in New England. Debi spent the last of seven years in Connecticut working for a sole practitioner closing real estate transactions. She became certified to write title insurance binders and conducted the round-table real estate closings on nearly a weekly basis. This included preliminary title review and notarizing borrower loan documents to deed preparation and recording; thus, providing Debi with an in-depth understanding of what her now clients can expect from an escrow company.

She then worked for a small law firm in Irvine, California for the next five years where her case load included dissolution of marriage and probate and estate law. Having worked with high profile clientele, client confidentiality was and continues to be of utmost importance.

She finally ended her paralegal career back in Las Vegas having decided it was time to give back to her community, and she did so by obtaining her real estate license and actively providing information about possible alternatives to so many homeowners who were facing foreclosure.

Debi continues to give back to her community by staying apprised of proposed legislation and communicating concerns to legal advocacy. She volunteers when possible at the local Rescue Mission and for our seniors at various functions and events.
